1. An application for renewal of the long-term resident card shall be accompanied by criminal record information in Portugal, obtained by the Agency for Integration, Migration and Asylum (AIMA).

2. In exceptional circumstances, relating to doubts as to the applicant’s identity or to absence from national territory for long periods, AIMA may require the production of a valid travel document or a certified copy of it, without prejudice to Article 212(1) of Law No. 23/2007 of 4 July, as amended.
2 - Em circunstâncias excecionais, associadas a dúvidas relativamente à identidade do requerente ou à ausência de território nacional por longos períodos, a AIMA, I. P., pode exigir a apresentação de documento de viagem válido ou cópia autenticada do mesmo, sem prejuízo do disposto no n.º 1 do artigo 212.º da Lei n.º 23/2007, de 4 de julho, na sua redação atual.
3. Where the application for renewal of the card is submitted after the card’s period of validity has expired, it shall always be accompanied by proof of stay in national territory or proof of the reasons for absence.
3 - No caso de o pedido de renovação do título ser apresentado após o decurso do seu prazo de validade, o pedido deve ser sempre acompanhado de prova de permanência em território nacional ou comprovativo dos motivos de ausência.
