a) The State, the Autonomous Regions, local authorities and associations and federations of municipalities governed by public law, as well as any of their departments, establishments and bodies, even if they have legal personality, including public institutes, that are not of a business nature;
a) O Estado, as Regiões Autónomas, as autarquias locais e as associações e federações de municípios de direito público, bem como quaisquer dos seus serviços, estabelecimentos e organismos, ainda que personalizados, compreendidos os institutos públicos, que não tenham carácter empresarial;
b) Foreign States, on the acquisition of buildings intended exclusively to house their diplomatic or consular mission or as the residence of the head of mission or of the consul, as well as of land for their construction, provided that there is reciprocity of treatment;
b) Os Estados estrangeiros pela aquisição de edifícios destinados exclusivamente à sede da respectiva missão diplomática ou consular ou à residência do chefe da missão ou do cônsul, bem como dos terrenos para a sua construção, desde que haja reciprocidade de tratamento;
c) Exemptions laid down in agreements between the State and any persons, governed by public or private law, which are maintained under the respective law;
c) As constantes de acordo entre o Estado e quaisquer pessoas, de direito público ou privado, que são mantidas nos termos da respectiva lei;
d) Legal persons with public-interest status (utilidade pública), as regards property intended directly and immediately for the pursuit of their statutory purposes;
d) As pessoas coletivas com estatuto de utilidade pública, quanto aos bens destinados, direta e imediatamente, à realização dos seus fins estatutários;
e) Private social solidarity institutions (instituições particulares de solidariedade social) and entities legally treated as equivalent to them, as regards property intended directly and immediately for the pursuit of their statutory purposes;
e) As instituições particulares de solidariedade social e entidades a estas legalmente equiparadas, quanto aos bens destinados, directa e imediatamente, à realização dos seus fins estatutários;
f) Acquisitions of property for religious purposes made by religious legal persons registered as such under the law governing religious freedom;
f) As aquisições de bens para fins religiosos, efectuadas por pessoas colectivas religiosas, como tal inscritas, nos termos da lei que regula a liberdade religiosa;
g) Acquisitions of properties individually classified as being of national interest, public interest or municipal interest, under the applicable legislation;
g) As aquisições de prédios individualmente classificados como de interesse nacional, de interesse público ou de interesse municipal, nos termos da legislação aplicável;
h) Acquisitions of property situated in the most economically disadvantaged regions, when made by commercial companies or civil companies in commercial form that allocate it to carrying on, in those regions, agricultural or industrial activities considered to be of overriding economic and social interest;
h) As aquisições de bens situados nas regiões economicamente mais desfavorecidas, quando efectuadas por sociedades comerciais ou civis sob a forma comercial, que os destinem ao exercício, naquelas regiões, de actividades agrícolas ou industriais consideradas de superior interesse económico e social;
i) Acquisitions of property by physical culture associations, where it is intended for facilities not normally usable for shows with paid admission;
i) As aquisições de bens por associações de cultura física, quando destinados a instalações não utilizáveis normalmente em espectáculos com entradas pagas;
j) Acquisitions of rural properties intended for the first establishment of young farmers who are applicants for the support provided for in Decree-Law No. 81/91 of 18 February, even if made at different times, up to the value provided for in Article 9, regardless of whether the value on which the tax would be levied exceeds that limit;
j) As aquisições de prédios rústicos que se destinem à primeira instalação de jovens agricultores candidatos aos apoios previstos no Decreto-Lei n.º 81/91, de 18 de Fevereiro, ainda que operadas em épocas diferentes, até ao valor previsto no artigo 9.º, independentemente do valor sobre que incidiria o imposto ultrapassar aquele limite;
l) Acquisitions by museums, libraries, schools, public business entities responsible for the public school network, and institutes and associations for teaching or education, for scientific, literary or artistic culture and for charity, assistance or welfare, as regards property intended directly or indirectly for the pursuit of their statutory purposes.
l) As aquisições por museus, bibliotecas, escolas, entidades públicas empresariais responsáveis pela rede pública de escolas, institutos e associações de ensino ou educação, de cultura científica, literária ou artística e de caridade, assistência ou beneficência, quanto aos bens destinados, directa ou indirectamente, à realização dos seus fins estatutários.
m) Real estate investment funds whose units are wholly held by the entities referred to in point (a).
m) Os fundos de investimento imobiliário cujas unidades de participação sejam integralmente detidas pelas entidades referidas na alínea a).
The list of exempt entities and acquisitions in points (a) to (m) (there is no point (k)), the conditions attached to each (no business nature, reciprocity, direct and immediate allocation to statutory purposes, first establishment of young farmers up to the value in Article 9) and the reference to Decree-Law No. 81/91 are retained.
