1. Unless otherwise provided by a legislative act amending Article 68(1), the euro amounts corresponding to the lower and upper limits of the taxable income bands provided for in that provision are updated annually by applying to those limits the rate of change of the gross domestic product deflator and the rate of change of gross domestic product per worker, determined on the basis of the data published by Statistics Portugal (Instituto Nacional de Estatística, INE) in the third quarter of the year preceding the entry into force of the State Budget Law.

#

(1 + t.v. DPIB) × (1 + t.v. PIB/t)

(1 + t.v. DPIB) × (1 + t.v. PIB/t)

#

where:

em que:

#

t.v. = rate of change as a percentage;

t.v. = taxa de variação em percentagem;

4. The rate of change of the gross domestic product deflator and the rate of change of gross domestic product per worker, determined on the basis of the data published by INE in the quarter immediately preceding that of its presentation by the Government, are published by order (portaria) of the member of the Government responsible for finance by 20 September of the calendar year to which they relate.

What we checked in this article

The annual indexation formula (GDP deflator and GDP per worker, third-quarter INE data, or the quarter before presentation for amending budgets) and the 20 September publication deadline are retained; paragraph 4 refers to ‘its presentation by the Government’ without an express antecedent, as in the source.
