Os cidadãos estrangeiros que pretendam entrar ou permanecer em território nacional devem fornecer, se necessário, dados biométricos, com a finalidade de:
a) Creating the individual file in the Entry/Exit System (EES), in accordance with Articles 8-A and 8-B;
a) Criar o processo individual no SES, de acordo com os artigos 8.º-A e 8.º-B;
b) Carrying out border checks in accordance with point (a)(i) and point (g)(i) of Article 8(3) of Regulation (EU) 2016/399 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 March 2016 on a Union Code on the rules governing the movement of persons across borders (Schengen Borders Code), with Article 23(2), (4) and (5) of Regulation (EU) 2017/2226 and, where applicable, with Articles 18 and 19 of Regulation (EC) No 767/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 July 2008 concerning the Visa Information System and the exchange of data between Member States on short-stay visas;
b) Realizar controlos de fronteira em conformidade com a subalínea i) da alínea a) e a subalínea i) da alínea g) do n.º 3 do artigo 8.º do Regulamento (UE) 2016/399, do Parlamento Europeu e do Conselho, de 9 de março de 2016, que estabelece o código da União relativo ao regime de passagem de pessoas nas fronteiras (Código das Fronteiras Schengen), com os n.os 2, 4 e 5 do artigo 23.º do Regulamento (UE) 2017/2226 e, quando aplicável, com os artigos 18.º e 19.º do Regulamento (CE) n.º 767/2008, do Parlamento Europeu e do Conselho, de 9 de julho de 2008, relativo ao Sistema de Informação de Vistos e ao intercâmbio de dados entre os Estados-Membros sobre os vistos de curta duração;
c) Carrying out entry and stay checks in accordance with Article 6(6) of Regulation (EU) 2016/399.
