1. Without prejudice to the specific documents required for each type of visa, applications shall be accompanied by the following documents:
1 - Sem prejuízo dos documentos específicos exigíveis para cada tipo de visto, os pedidos são instruídos com os seguintes documentos:
a) Two identical passport-type photographs, or a digitally captured facial image, as the case may be, in colour with a plain background, recent and suitable for clearly identifying the applicant;
a) Duas fotografias iguais, tipo passe, ou imagem facial recolhida digitalmente, consoante o caso, a cores e fundo liso, atuais e com boas condições de identificação do requerente;
b) A valid passport or other valid travel document;
b) Passaporte ou outro documento de viagem válido;
c) A criminal record certificate issued by the competent authority of the applicant’s country of nationality or of the country in which the applicant has been resident for more than one year, where temporary stay visas, residence visas or job-seeker visas are applied for;
c) Certificado do registo criminal emitido pela autoridade competente do país de nacionalidade do requerente ou do país em que este resida há mais de um ano, quando sejam requeridos vistos de estada temporária, de residência e para procura de trabalho;
e) Valid travel insurance covering the expenses necessary for medical reasons, including urgent medical assistance and possible repatriation;
e) Seguro de viagem válido, que permita cobrir as despesas necessárias por razões médicas, incluindo assistência médica urgente e eventual repatriamento;
f) Proof of means of subsistence, as defined by order (portaria) of the members of the Government responsible for internal administration and for labour and social solidarity, having regard to the nature of the type of visa applied for, without prejudice to paragraph 4 of the following article;
f) Comprovativo da existência de meios de subsistência, tal como definidos por portaria dos membros do Governo responsáveis pelas áreas da administração interna e do trabalho e da solidariedade social, atenta a natureza do tipo de visto solicitado, sem prejuízo do disposto no n.º 4 do artigo seguinte;
g) A copy of the return ticket, except where a residence visa is applied for.
g) Cópia do título de transporte de regresso, salvo quando seja solicitado visto de residência.
2. The document referred to in point (f) of the preceding paragraph may be waived for holders of diplomatic passports and of special or official service passports.
2 - O documento previsto na alínea f) do número anterior pode ser dispensado aos titulares de passaporte diplomático e de serviço especial ou oficial.
3. The visa applicants referred to in Article 52-A of Law No. 23/2007 of 4 July, as amended, as well as nationals of another State to which the special conditions of that Agreement are extended by international agreement, are exempt from submitting:
3 - Aos requerentes de visto mencionados no artigo 52.º-A da Lei n.º 23/2007, de 4 de julho, na sua redação atual, bem como aos nacionais de outro Estado a que as condições especiais daquele Acordo sejam estendidas por acordo internacional, é dispensada a apresentação:
a) The specific items required for each type of visa;
a) Dos elementos específicos exigíveis para cada tipo de visto;
b) The items referred to in paragraph 1(e) and (g);
b) Dos elementos previstos nas alíneas e) e g) do n.º 1;
c) The items referred to in paragraph 1(f), provided that they submit a statement of responsibility under and for the purposes of paragraphs 2 and 3 of the following article.
c) Dos elementos previstos na alínea f) do n.º 1, desde que apresentem um termo de responsabilidade nos termos e para os efeitos do disposto nos n.os 2 e 3 do artigo seguinte.
4. Diplomatic missions or consular posts may decide, on a case-by-case basis, to make an exception to the travel medical insurance requirement for holders of diplomatic, service and other official passports, or where this may protect national interests in the field of foreign policy, development policy or other areas of significant public interest, in which case appropriate health insurance shall be taken out within 90 days of entry into national territory.
4 - As missões diplomáticas ou os postos consulares podem decidir, caso a caso, abrir uma excepção à exigência de seguro médico de viagem para os titulares de passaportes diplomáticos, de serviço e outros passaportes oficiais, ou quando tal possa proteger os interesses nacionais em matéria de política externa, de política de desenvolvimento ou outras áreas de relevante interesse público, devendo ser assegurada, no prazo de 90 dias após a entrada em território nacional, a subscrição de adequado seguro de saúde.
5. Where the visa application concerns a minor subject to the exercise of parental responsibilities or an adult under an accompaniment measure (maior acompanhado), the corresponding authorisation shall be submitted.
5 - Tratando-se de pedido de visto respeitante a menor sujeito ao exercício de responsabilidades parentais ou a maior acompanhado, deve ser apresentada a respetiva autorização.
6. Applicants who prove that it is impossible for them to obtain travel insurance may be exempted from submitting it.
6 - Podem ser isentos de apresentação de seguro de viagem os requerentes que comprovem a impossibilidade da sua obtenção.
7. Persons under 16 years of age are exempt from adding criminal record information to the file.
7 - Os cidadãos menores de 16 anos estão isentos de junção ao processo de informação sobre registo criminal.
