1. Within three months of their entry into national territory, the long-term resident referred to in the preceding Article must submit an application for a residence permit to the Agency for Integration, Migration and Asylum (AIMA).
1 - No prazo de três meses a contar da sua entrada no território nacional, o residente de longa duração referido no artigo anterior deve apresentar um pedido de autorização de residência junto da AIMA, I. P.
2. The application referred to in the previous paragraph is accompanied by documents proving that the applicant meets the conditions for exercising their right of residence referred to in the preceding Article.
2 - O pedido referido no número anterior é acompanhado de documentos comprovativos de que o requerente preenche as condições de exercício do seu direito de residência referidas no artigo anterior.
3. The application is also accompanied by the long-term residence card and a valid travel document, or certified copies thereof.
3 - O pedido é ainda acompanhado do título de residência de longa duração e de um documento de viagem válido, ou de cópias autenticadas dos mesmos.
4. A decision on an application for a residence permit submitted under the preceding Article is taken within three months.
4 - A decisão sobre um pedido de autorização de residência apresentado ao abrigo do artigo anterior é tomada no prazo de três meses.
5. If the application is not accompanied by the documents listed in paragraphs 2 and 3, or in exceptional circumstances arising from the complexity of examining the application, the time limit laid down in the previous paragraph may be extended by a period not exceeding three months, and the applicant must be informed of that extension.
5 - Se o pedido não for acompanhado dos documentos indicados nos n.os 2 e 3, ou em circunstâncias excepcionais motivadas pela complexidade da análise do pedido, o prazo previsto no número anterior pode ser prorrogado por um período não superior a três meses, devendo o requerente ser informado desta prorrogação.
6. The board of directors of AIMA, which may delegate this power, is competent to decide on the grant of a residence permit under this section.
6 - É competente para a decisão sobre a concessão de autorização de residência ao abrigo da presente secção o conselho diretivo da AIMA, I. P., com faculdade de delegação.
7. Failure to take a decision within six months is equivalent to approval of the application for a residence permit.
7 - A falta de decisão no prazo de seis meses equivale a deferimento do pedido de autorização de residência.
8. The grant of a residence permit to the long-term resident and to their family members is communicated by AIMA to the competent authorities of the Member State that granted long-term resident status.
8 - A concessão de autorização de residência ao residente de longa duração bem como aos membros da sua família é comunicada pela AIMA, I. P., às autoridades competentes do Estado membro que concedeu o estatuto de residente de longa duração.
