1. Without prejudice to the applicable special statutory provisions, a temporary residence permit is valid for a period of two years from the date of issue of the corresponding residence card and is renewable for successive periods of three years.
1 - Sem prejuízo das disposições legais especiais aplicáveis, a autorização de residência temporária é válida pelo período de dois anos contados a partir da data da emissão do respetivo título e é renovável por períodos sucessivos de três anos.
2. An applicant who is covered by the CPLP Agreement (Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries) and holds a residence visa may apply for a temporary residence permit.
2 - Se o requerente estiver abrangido pelo Acordo CPLP e for titular de um visto de residência pode solicitar uma autorização de residência temporária.
3. In the cases provided for in the preceding paragraph, for the purposes of issuing the temporary residence permit, the competent services shall consult the applicant’s Portuguese criminal record of their own motion.
3 - Nos casos previstos no número anterior, para efeitos de emissão da autorização de residência temporária, os serviços competentes consultam oficiosamente o registo criminal português do requerente.
4. The residence card must, however, be renewed whenever there is a change in the identification details recorded on it.
