1. The acquisition value adjusted under paragraph 2 of the preceding Article is updated by applying the currency devaluation coefficients published for that purpose by order (portaria) of the member of the Government responsible for finance whenever, at the date of realisation, at least two years have elapsed since the date of acquisition, and the amount of that update is deducted for the purpose of determining taxable profit.
1 - O valor de aquisição corrigido nos termos do n.º 2 do artigo anterior é atualizado mediante aplicação dos coeficientes de desvalorização da moeda para o efeito publicados em portaria do membro do Governo responsável pela área das finanças, sempre que, à data da realização, tenham decorrido pelo menos dois anos desde a data da aquisição, sendo o valor dessa atualização deduzido para efeitos da determinação do lucro tributável.
2. The monetary correction referred to in the preceding paragraph does not apply to financial instruments, except in respect of holdings.

3. Where, under the special regime provided for in Articles 76 to 78, the shareholdings received are valued at the same value at which the old shareholdings were recorded, the date of acquisition of the shareholdings received is, for the purposes of paragraph 1, deemed to be that of the old shareholdings.
